Important notice before you book your tickets
Please understand that we are showing wild invertebrates in various different types of enclosure. There are over 200 different species of invertebrate on show but by the nature of these animals it is not guaranteed that you will see all of the animals on display all of the time.
Many invertebrates such as scorpions and tarantulas like to hide away, and whilst we have designed the enclosures to allow you to see them most of the time, this cannot be guaranteed. Be assured that you will see a lot of amazing creatures you have never seen before, just not necessarily all of them on the same day.
The displays we have created allow for many species of an invertebrate order to be shown, so if some are not on view, please understand their need for time out of the spotlight and do not bang on the glass or shine lights into the displays as that will upset the animal and make it stay hidden for longer.
The visitor houses are kept at about 24 to 25 degrees all year round, so please bear this in mind when dressing for your visit.
We are limited to how many visitors can attend the bookable handling experiences which are booked for specific days and times, these cannot be changed and are booked on a first-come,first-served basis. In peak season these may not be available at all if you just turn up on the day ! So please book early to avoid disappointment.
PLEASE ensure all doors to the visitor centres are shut after you enter or leave as it is important to retain the heat in the visitor centres, especially so when it is colder outside than inside.
Most importantly enjoy your visit to one of the most unique animal displays in the UK.
